This is an amount fixed by the insurance company which the insured would have to pay whenever a claim arises.

This is an amount chosen by the insured, where the insured gets to choose the amount he would like to pay from his pocket as and when a claim arises. The amount chosen varies on policyholders as this is done as per financial affordability and medical expenses.

There is no lowering of the premium as per the amount of compulsory deductible, the premium remains the same.

The higher your deductible amount is, the lower will be your premium.
